A few years ago, Chick & Marian Skinner celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, with family and friends, by renewing their marriage vows. Both weddings, the original  and the 50th Anniversary, took place at the local Church in the village of Poland just below the Adirondack foothills in upstate New York. The Groom ...more dashing than ever.

The Bride arrived in a beautiful horse-drawn carriage adorned with MacGregor ribbon.

Grandchildren, Randy II and Laura, joined the Bridal Party. Don't they look spectacular? The girls enhanced the Scottish flavour with white pine and heather throughout the church and in the bouquets. We made traditional highland oatcakes & lemonade to tide folks over until the reception dinner. What fun it all was!

Grandsons, Victor and Charles Robert, served as ushers. In keeping with the Highland traditions, the ceremony included a professional Piper and "the Sashin o' the Bride".

Our Grandaughter, Laura, and our Son, Chuck, look magnificent in the traditional dress.

Chick & Marian were treated to a ride around the village before departing for the reception.

The Bridal Party Randy II, Laura Kathryn, Chuck, Joan, Nikki, Chick & Marian , Mom & Barbara. Joan, Mom, Barbara and (of course) Chick & Marian were all participants in the original wedding. What a joyous day!

The cake topper was custom-made to resemble Chick & Marian.

Skinner is a sept of the Mac Gregor Clan.  MacGRIOGHAIR (in GAELIC ) (in the old county of) Argyll MEANING: `son of Grioghair; the name Gregor(y) derives from GREEK `to be watchful'. The clan's motto `S'rioghal mo dhream' `Royal is my race' attests to the tradition that it descended from a brother or son of the 9th century King Kenneth MacAlpin.
